Suckarepellent.com relaunched!
This is v3 of the "urban-centric" site thats been around for almost a decade. I did a bit of house cleaning. It definitely doesn't look as cool as the v2 but its much more easy to update! Also added Film Reviews and a DJ mixes section.

Introduction to Illustrator

First three Saturdays of the month 11-2pm

Abobe Illustrator can be used for many different creative projects. Whether creating graphics for the web or high-resolution images for business cards, t-shirt designs, cd covers or posters, Illustrator is the program to use. You can scan in your black and white drawings, or import photographs to be enhanced in Illustrator and worked further in Photoshop. You can use Photoshop to edit photos, then bounce back and forth between the programs, placing images into Illustrator and cutting and pasting artwork from Illustrator into Photoshop. In this 3-session course, you will learn all of the basics of the application. Using the drawing and reshaping tools will be covered along with, combining objects, applying color, fill and strokes, and adding type. You will also explore the different ways to prepare files for printing and the importance of understanding the difference between print and screen resolution, (vector verses raster bitmap images). Each student will design one project in this class. It can be a logo, business card, cd/dvd cover, t-shirt design, or other project. Although no prior experience is necessary, this class is designed as a follow up to the Photoshop Intensive.
